Yes, Prenatal care is an important part of staying healthy during pregnancy and great time to learn how to ease any discomfort you may be having. One can start getting prenatal care as soon as you know you’re pregnant.

Before getting into details of Prenatal care one question is going through my mind

Is your body ready for Pregnancy?

It’s not about being at the right age or social pressure or physically fit body.

It is about readiness of the body physiologically and physiologically both. In today’s world women’s are not just looking after household chores, they are working in offices, factories, fields, entertainment industries etc; they are doing all kind of jobs being indoors or outdoors. They are facing all kind of challenges and going through different levels of stress. When we talk about stress it is a feeling of emotional & physical tension.

Stress can be of different reasons as well..

  • Losing a good body figure during pregnancy
  • Giving up on your dream job
  • More pressure of managing work life balance
  • Social pressure

Lot of women’s are facing health issues like diabetes, hypertension, back issues, PCOS, weight issues
etc. Lot of people has some genetic issues which they will not be aware of like Sickle cell disease, Thalassemia, Fragile X Syndrome etc.

This is bringing up another question in my mind

How important is Pre Pregnancy Preparations?

No, I am not talking about being ready to be a mother or preparing your body for pregnancy. I want to make you aware about being healthy to be ready for any situation coming your way. Staying fit is important and Feeling fit and happier is even more important.

Nowadays there are many ways of staying healthy; people go for jogs, gym, diet, aerobics, Pilates etc and some people do opt for YOGA as well. Here I want to elaborate how yoga helps in staying, feeling healthy in a holistic way.

Yoga is a group of physical, mental and spiritual practice or disciplines which originated in ancient India.

How will Yoga Help?

As mentioned above Stress is the major issue in today’s society which everyone is struggling with particularly women as they are more responsible for managing house hold chores and their carrier. Stress produces a state of physical and mental tension, Yoga developed thousands of years ago is
recognized as a form of mind body medicine. In yoga, physical postures and breathing exercises improve muscle strength, flexibility, blood circulation and oxygen uptake as well as hormone function, When the body is out of stress the other health related issues like hyper tension, diabetes etc will be cured.

Regular yoga practice will help in posture related issues like cervical, back pain, frozen shoulder, migraine, knee pain etc.

With better blood circulation the endocrine system functions will improves which will normalize the hormone levels in the body. The issue of PCOS, PCOD, PMS etc. will be cured.

All the above will help improve the physical and physiological health of the women body and eventually will help her be ready for pregnancy.

Pregnancy itself is a big topic to discuss, it’s not only about the child’s health it’s about what women body goes through the entire 9 months of pregnancy and what all challenges she can face during this period.

We will be touching different topics in our coming blogs. If you have interest in knowing more about any particular topic you can write or you have any story to share please write to us.
